Disconnect Oddities...

Sir.

Grandmaster
Ok, so this has been bugging me for months...

I can sit here and play UO for 12 hrs straight on a GOOD day off, bouncing between UO and discord, and never get disconnected. However...

On my macro toon at WBB, 9/10 times when I don't go back to my UO window for like 1-2+ hrs at a time, I get disconnected.

Every day I leave for work, start my macro, come home disconnected.

Tonight I came home from work to a disconnected screen (ofc), reconnected and started my macro back up and went to discord. Spent like 2 hrs there and tabbed over to find im disconnected. Never once lost connection on anything else and yet I can't keep a connection on UO for jack diddly.

Anyone out there have a suggestion? I'm about to buy a new router but for the fact I don't disconnect on anything other than UO, I'm like wtf man...

Anyone else have this issue or have a clue of wtf's going on? Is there an auto-disconnect afk feature or something? Thanks! :(

I have been having the same issue when I have multiple accounts open and tab over to open an email or check out discord. The last week or two has even just been disconnecting me while I am playing and not surfing the forums. Its a real awful feeling beginning to klomp and losing connection !! HAR !!

I have also experienced this, and it does seem to happen more recently... It's a similar experience to what you describe, if I'm active and playing, it really doesn't feel like it happens often. If afk, come back to a lot of disconnect....

There are many factors that could cause this... in reality, our internet connections to our homes are not connected 100% of the time, the smallest disconnect will cause this but you won't notice it when surfing the web, watching youtube, etc.

I do notice that if you are afk at brit you do disconnect more often. I don't have an answer as to why but it must have something to do with the amount of activity going on there.

Could it be related to your power settings on your computer - I only ever turn my monitor off after inactivity, like 20 minutes, I always set my PC
to never go to sleep. If you have a 2 hour timer on your PC to put it to sleep, it'll close any connections to the net, until you turn it back on.
