Colored Recycled Leather

When you recycle colored metal, you get colored ingots back. When you recycle colored cloth, you get colored cloth back. And I'm not sure about wood.

But when I get colored boots from NPC's, I always just thought it would be cool if when I used scissors on them it would give me hued leather rather than un-dyed normal leather and the ability to re-craft it into leather items that retain that hue. Just a thought to add a bit to the diversity of some collectors items/clothing and economy.

There are free-to-use public leather tubs you can use, like the vendor house directly next to Occlo bank.

Well, I do know of these tubs, but they don't have "all" of the hues that the NPC boots have, do they?

I used to play OSI waaaaaaay back (long before Trammel) and I remember you could go to a blacksmith NPC and buy different hues of platemail armor from them. There were insane amounts of color variants that you could collect and come by, but you never would find a full suit of the same hue on a single blacksmith shop-keep. Instead, you would get like arms and a gorget from one town, gloves and a helm from another, and a week later find the rest of the set from different towns. There were very silvery blues, smokey greys/blacks, rust colored bronzes and coppers, but all different from the colored ores we have today by a few shades.

It's a small niche group of people who liked collecting this armor, I'm sure, but it was another form of "collection" that I loved. Since that won't be coming back (I doubt anyway), I set my sights on the different colors of "boots" from NPC's that are not a part of the leather dye tubs so that I could make very special and rare sets of colored leather.

If not leather retaining color when recycled, can we bring back the random platemail hues on blacksmiths? XD
