This character cannot move from a single spot now. Here's what happened (complicated).
My fisherman, Captain Dickbeard (the bugged char), couldn't recall back onto the galleon (which he launched) because a booty box was blocking the spot. So he went out in a smaller boat to find it, scouring the area. To accomplish this he used the "take the helm" command on the small boat. He found the galleon and embarked on it, without using the "reliquish the helm" command on the small boat. Then he was stuck on the galleon, still moving the small boat around with the mouse pointer. I tried hitting the galleon wheel and got the message "You take control of the Helm," but the same thing was still happening, i.e. he was still controlling the smaller boat even though he was standing upon the galleon. Saying "I relinquish the helm" or hitting the galleon helm again had no effect. So he scuttled the smaller boat, but still nothing changed.
But he could recall, so he recalls back to the house, but he's stuck in place in where he recalled to. I try a bunch of stuff and finally resynching the client gets him moving normally again. Problem solved, right? NOT SO FAST!
That booty box is STILL blocking the recall spot on the galleon. So he goes again with a small boat, taking the helm again. When he find the galleon, he remembers to say "I relinquish the helm" and embarks on the galleon. But it's exactly like last time in that he's standing on the galleon still controlling the smaller boat with the mouse. Again, he tries hitton the galleon helm and can only get the "you take control of the helm" message again and again, but not the "you relinquish the helm" one. AGAIN, scuttle the small ship and recall back to the house. Again, totally stuck in place. He can recall, trade, etc. I try logging out, retarting the whole computer, killing him, resynching, logging another char from the same account in and them him back... but nothing works.
I've already paged the GM by now. It said I was second in queue and the first but then like hours of nothing.. so I figure they've all gone to bed or whatevs. THEN I find he can't walk but he can "pathfind." When I use pathfinding he just floats with no walking animation. So I take him to Brit Bank and he floats around like a freak asking if anyone can help, but nobody knows what to do. So back home. Then he gets stucks and unable to pathfind, just like totally stuck in place, and there he remains. I take my other char out and use the galleon. The galleon still works with direction controls, right, letft, forward... but it's impossible to take the helm with the other char. It gives the message that you do, but the mouse directional controls don't work but voice commands still do. I try scuttling the galleon, killing him a few more times, EVERYTHING. But nothing works.
Oh and when tries to mount a mount he gets the "you can't mount this with dyed skin," but of course his skin isn't died.
