Are Scales Worthless?

I saw on the resource prices thread http://www.uoforum.com/threads/guide-resource-mod-default-prices.60640/

that blue scales were worth 50gp each. So I collected a bunch of them.

After further reading, it turns out that dragon scale armor is worthless aside from dressing vendors up.

Is there any other use for scales that would make their value really 50gp each, (or 40, or 30, or 20) or are they pretty much worthless?

They are not worthless, they are useful for people raising Blacksmith from 100 to 120 - also blacksmiths who make and sell the full sets of armour will buy them too.

I think you can use them to get BODs too which will sell quick.

The scales alone you will have a hard time selling to anyone other than a crafter.

Dragonscale armor is awesome if you get exceptional pieces. my favorite armor to wear on my pvper
