This is probably a bit of a noob question and I know its been covered a lot but I just want to get a reply from players that are currently playing.

So if you are a dexxer do you still wear chain, bone,ringmail etc... because it effects AR
Or do you just keep to magical leather armour with high AR ?
I just heard once that having 93 dex is the same as having 100 as its done in brackets!? Not sure if im being silly or if that's true!

many people are under the impression that there are swing speed tiers. some weapons have 3, some have 4. these tiers are every 90 dex, so 90-119 dex is the same speed, while 120 dex raises to a higher speed if it is a particular weapon.

player testing (not done by me) and staff input (i think) indicated that is not the case here. swing speed has significantly more than 3-4 breakpoints, so each point (or two) of dex matters.

dexxers used to wear either light or heavy archer sets. both sets share a no dex loss helm, chain tunic and legging. gloves, arms, and gorget can be either ringmail (studded gorget) or platemail. the light archer set had 0 dex loss. bone could also be used as it had 0 dex loss. a recent patch added in dex loss for all armor except leather/studded and certain helms. it doesn't seem there is a consesus on the optimal armor to wear anymore.

i no longer wear any bone, as it's dex loss is nearly as bad as plate. i am sitll wearing light archer sets, but that's because i have so much saved up. when it's gone, i may switch to studded only.

staff has said that they will be adjusting leather armor ratings, since barbed leather is so effective for its no dex loss and med-ability. i am not sure if this means they will be adjusting studded armor ratings as well.

The minus 10 dex suits don't seem to hurt my swing speed but my healing rate seems longer than 10 seconds.

Staff have already stated that swing speed is directly proportionate to dex and prorated by stamina, so there are not any tiers. This means that 100dex swings faster than 99dex, albeit very slightly. Essentially, every point counts.

In regards to leather, it has already been nerfed. A full set of barbed leather used to be 36AR, it is now 31AR.

When wearing all leather armor + cap it used to be 36 AR. Per @Adam, he nerfed it down to 31 AR, which is era accurrate. In my opinion, it should be nerfed further for balance.
