They haven't added any additional benefits. It is kind of a lottery. You are either buying it for really cheap if the make it do something really desirable or you overpay if they don't do anything or it disappoints.

So far it increases your chance at successfully making scrolls. 100 is 50% chance at creating an EV, 105 60%, 110 70% etc

Past that nothing special yet however Im not 120 yet. That being said might be recipe drops (hope not) or just something implemented in the future.
