On UOF, you smelt ore by double clicking when it's near a forge. You can smelt a whole stack in one go, but I recommend smelting in smaller stacks because there's a chance that you extract 2 ingots per ore. If you smelt a whole stack in one go, there's a good chance that you only get one ingot...
The hold capacity and speed on each boat type is the same and I suspect that the damage each boat deals is also the same. The only thing that might differ is the HP on each type of boat but I'm not sure about that either... If so, I'm guessing the gargoyle ship is the toughest and the tokuno...
You start finding treasure maps at 80, fishing nets at 90 and MiBs at 100. I don't think you can find any MiBs before GM (unless they changed that on UOF).
The world is divided into little 8*8 boxes and in each box a certain type of ore spawns. Which ore spawns where is random. So you can't mine all ore types in one location but all the other types are usually close by.
The extra cost is 10k. You'll get a full refund on the complete design when you clear the plot. So actually, you're only paying 20k to customize a house once and clearing it some time later.
This is how it works in standard RunUO:
The range (excluding the targetted tile) is 1 + magery / 20. So with 100 magery the spell will reveal all tiles that are up to 6 tiles away from the cast location. The reveal chance is 100%, which is pretty stupid imo.
There actually is a logical formula...
Personally, I'd go for hiding. Summon and field spells are more effective in PVM than spells like ebolt/explo. Eval int won't make your summons or fields stronger.
If you really want eval int though, invisibility will work just fine if you can cast it soon enough. But it will be easier for PKs...
The biggest change is that you can train fishing to 120 with the use of powersrolls and thus having a better catch rate for serpents. There are also ancient MiBs, giving you better loot. Another thing is that mobs will spawn when you fish up an MiB chest, much like a treasure chest on land...
As stated above, you can really start making decent money when you can control young dragons at 74.5 taming. I wouldn't bother PVMing with wolves or bears imo :p. You can hit 74.5 skill in about 2 days of hardcore training.
Boars, hinds, timber wolves, horses and llamas (in forest areas) seem...
When you boat is sunk by someone, a ransom note will appear in the inventory of the character that placed the boat. You then have 2 options: either accept the ransom to get your boat back (for a price), or reject the ransom and prevent anyone else from repairing your wrecked boat for one hour...
I'm having the same problem! I've heard other people having troubles with this too. I also haven't had any deaths in my fish tanks, eventhough I have been neglecting them from time to time. I think something might be wrong with the aquariums...
It is never unwise to start playing UO. It's a great game :D.
It may be tough to get established as a complete newb, but there is a great system in place to help new players on this server, namely the companions. Once you start out you'll be marked as a young player for a certain amount of...
