I think most of us can agree that there is little to no incentive to sink ships. I think sinking ships would be more exciting IF there was loot on the ships, or if we could some how earn some money from sinking a ship. Here are my ideas: Boat mining: There are several locations where nodes can be mined from a ship. I think if there was some type of benefit to boat mining, more people would do it, and would likely have loads of ore on their ship. This would be great for pirates. There could also be a feature where you shoot cannons (maybe with special cannon balls) to mine several nodes simultaneously. Maybe an additional island could be added that has more of these boat mining locations. Ship Bounty System What if when you sunk a ship, and got the booty, there was a deed or something that when double clicked; would bring up a bounty offer menu similar to the red bounty system. Should ships lose experience when sunk? Pirates love booty I think it should be more difficult to transport loot from the ocean to land, to our houses. The ships hold and any booty chests on the ship should only be able to be off-loaded onto land. -OR- Does anyone remember moonstones? Those little stones you clicked to open a portal to wherever. They took about 30 seconds to open the portal. What if that was the only way to get off of a boat? This means if a ship was attacked they couldn't get their loot away so easily. -OR- There could be a flee of battle type of thing when you get attacked on a boat. So, I think any of these ideas would give pirates more reasons to be on the high seas. In my experience, sinking a ship rarely leads to any profits. If any of these ideas have some flaws, please don't disregard all of them. Give credit where credit is due! Let me know what you guys think, and if any of these things should be implemented. Thanks!
