Provocation and the Rotting Corpse Table in Deceit

I'm really on the fence with this one and am only trying to get a conversation started.

Given the power of provocation, do you think the difficulty of leveling the skill should be increased?

More specifically should the barding table in Deceit be fixed? Or would this just be replaced by some other easy alternative?

I'm down with it being more difficult. Nerfing the deciet bard table wouldn't affect anything as there are a number of places that Provo can be macroed

To be honest, if the Ophidian ledge has been taken out then so should the bard table.

I never understood that change. Doing stuff like that only hurts new players as they are not given the same opportunity to use macro spots that hundreds before them have used. So...I'm actually in favor if leaving the table and opening the ophidian ledge back up.

But like the person below me said, it's not hard to find alternatives.

There are easy alternatives. I spent almost no time in that room when I realized that someone would appear and fuck shit up every 10 minutes or so. There are a number of ways to put a mid-high level creature needed to GM provo in spots where they can't attack you.

Yeah, but that's how change happens. Someone will be screwed but future generations will all be on the same foot.

Yeah, yeah. Fine, you win this one Haly.

I did edit the above, although it has no real bearing on your input.

I'll GLADLY touch on this one.
The amount of pages our staff get for "taxi rides" is already high enough...
People die in random places and instead of walking out, they page in for a taxi.

Regardless if they're a [young] player or veteran. I will literally start escorting them out. 3/4 of the time they say "the hell with this" and end up finally bringing their other acct to fetch themselves. Usually I just go to the player, and if they're not stuck behind a pillar, delete the page.

Having said that, we prefer the bard table. If not, people would be confined to alllll those pillars out there. And our pages would be out of control with people being dead/stuck behind them.

you know have you provo bashers even tried playing provo.. it is not nearly as easy as you think it is.. im pk'ed on average of at least 8 times in a 4hour play session . I have donated more loot to pk's or blue kill steals then I have returned to my collection. sure provo is a master of pvm but thats where it ends , provo dont do well with champ spawns. and pvp , well if a red shows im done ..

Spo look at the big picture before provo crying ..

I think everyone on this shard has a provo....

I think the bard table should be left alone. it's easily griefable for people who have too much time on their hands and/or have a problem with unattended provo training. Also, most people who have been on the server for a week or few have already taken advantage of the table, so newcomers would be penalized if it were removed.

The biggest advantage of the bard table is that you can use it ot GM provo in a day where if you die you can just run to the shrine to get resed and you aren't stuck. Granted, most players appear to be too lazy to run to the shrine; something that kinda blows my mind lol

I GM'd provo on 2 characters there. I think newcomers should be able to do the same if they want.

Truth be told if it was not for the table and getting helping me get my provo up I would have struggled to make decent coin on this server to start out with. No that I have MILLIONS of gold like most but I at least made enough to buy some regs, runebooks, spellbooks and other things to get me started.

Provo is almost a needed skill for a newbie starting the server.

Will someone please make a PVP video from the point of view of a macroer on the bard table? Just getting killed over and over, preferably set to music with fade in/out effects.

In before "Karl just record yourself playing it will be the same thing"
