A troubling beginning

Having reached out for companions and being shunned, I (Lily.) found the new land less welcoming than expected.

My journey begins as I roam the forests unsure of the path ahead. There I was lost, alone, and without council. I spent a few days in the woods roaming aimlessly and attempting to wrestle beasts to make a stew. I was starving and confused and it wasn't long before desperation set in and lead me down a strange path.

I began talking to my new 'neighbours' pleading them for aid, or to lend me a few scraps of food.

The locals took pity on me they agreed to work together, to help me train, and to teach me to survive. Things rarely go as planned however, and whilst attempting to subdue some predatory animals for sustenance we were waylaid by the undead. My new allies fought valiantly knowing that all of our lives depended on it.

The battle raged on, but judging from all of the blood on the floor it was not going well for us. I left my new friends to handle that business while I 'regrouped' to restrategize. Unfortunately it seems they were not strong enough for the dangers that lurk in the forest, and they succumbed to mortal wounds. There was good news however, although all of my friends were just brutally murdered, they left behind the very thing I was seeking this entire time. Sure they taught me that the animals could be powerful and accepting allies, which helped me realize where I would focus my training. More importantly however, they provided me with meat for a stew to fill my belly.

Before night set in I ran to town to seek one proficient in the arts of taming wild beasts. I now knew this would be my calling, this would be how I claim my fame and fortune.

Success, I found exactly what I was looking for, but there was a slight problem. The problem being that I could not afford such training. Thinking back to the lessons of my animal friends, I came up with a plan to once again seize an opportunity to advance my goals! I ran around the corner and filled a bag with pebbles, it now had a similar weight as a bag filled with gold. I ran back to the master tamer and again requested his assistance, informing him he could have my bag of gold after completing my training. I handed the man the bag, but he was not as foolish as I believed and began inspecting the bag carefully. Regretfully I had been caught and my training halted much too early. On the bright side I finally found somebody to take me in, I was escorted into the accommodations they had set aside for me. The unfortunate part is that though I finally had a warm place to sleep, it turns out they were the guards and my new housing was the Trinsic jail. They roughly shoved me into the cell and locked the door behind me, informing me I would be their guest as punishment for my attempted fraud.

I spent a week in that cell before I was able to convince the guards that it was all a misunderstanding. Luckily the city of Trinsic is a kind city and I was provided with food, water, and only mild torture. Now I continue out into the forest to resume my training. Stronger from my time in prison and determined to complete my training alone and become a grand master.

Now that you see what a fierce and loyal army I intend to build, do you not regret your decision to shun me?

Adams, the Grizzly trader now running the Trinsic Trading Center, sat back in his chair, behind his desk, with his feet up on the table, staring at his brothers Achilles and Avalon. "I don't think you understand the severity of the problem Achilles. We are working to re-build a reputation here, to restore history, to create the foundation for many Trinsic merchants to come.... And here I am catching wind about a story of customers... make that potential PAYING customers! being shrugged off here on the steps of the TTC.. I won't have it.. You need to hunt this man down, and you need to give him lashings... many, many lashings.... "

Achilles looks over to Avalon, who shrugs his shoulders hopelessly, and looks back at the grizzly trader, leaning back casually on his chair..."
Some things never change... You've been here less than a fortnight, and already wielding your words, trying to get me to solve your problems for you, if you got a problem with this rumor, track it down yourself.."

As Achilles turned and walked through the door, Adams jumped up and slammed his hands on his desk, trying to get his attention...
"The Guard is going to hear of this negligence of duty!!" looking over at Avalon "Do something about this!

Avalon shakes his head, and walks out after Achilles....

Adams yells out the door after them...
    "Fine I'll do it myself!"

Later that evening, Adams mutters to himself... "How the hell do I find the name of a man rumored to have shunned, some unknown person?"
