Anything will help that is not already in the guide section.... like should you try to tame the hardest animal you can when you first can for better gains?

get a mare ASAP so you can use it to kill your tamed/release. save alot on cost and time.

Be friendly with other tamers that are working the same spots and see if you can get a chain-tame going.

Keep peacemaking til 100-120 taming, dropping it anytime in that range. Peacemaking is only useful for the actual training aspect and you'll see it's totally worthless when you try to tame your first dragon.

Tame only in dungeons. Why would you turn down increased skill gain for the worst skill in game?

Gains are very spotty once you're above 90. You'll get 5 gains in 20 minutes and then no gains for 2 hours. Either decide to tame for x amount of time or until you gain x amount of skill.

Drink from the Britain fountain often, stay well fed and cycle through a variety of the fire animals after you reach the 80s and 90s. You'll still get the occasional gain off of a small hell cat in the 110s!
