I remember a time when casting Energy Vortex carried risk. Many a time I have payed the price for casting EV and what now? No risk? I am shocked by docile EVs! This is fundamentally not right. What's going on?

The whole concept with casting these things was that it was not safe to do so. What has happened to them?

I feel this absolutely contravenes the essential principle of an Energy Vortex and is in violation of the laws of magic as we pretend to know it. EVs really should be little bundles of chaos, leaving a path of corpses, including your own and your friends.

Free the EV!

When I started in 2000 both EV and BS targeting the nearest blue even the caster, I like it

I agree entirely, if you used EV's, you had to be aware of EV management, and be ready to dispel when it finished off the mob, or player you were attacking.. They should absolutely turn on any NPC or player that it's closest to, and if it hits a non criminal, it should flag you gray, and give you a count if it kills them...

With great power should come great responsibility..

It would also solve that second account at Champs casting EV's on loop issue... Just flag them grey and kill them...

That's the way it's supposed to be... cast at you're own risk. All AOE spells should be like that.

I always thought they should attack what is closest within range. Regardless of notoriety. Red, Blue, Grey, Tamed Creature, Animal or Monster/Creature of any kind. Whatever is closest it should be attacking. Blade spirits should be the same way and should both be treated as a "wildcard" cast.

+1 agree, and I was about to mention him sure it was the same for Blade spirits too... remeber casting them poorly and having to run away from my own creation haha

EVs suck anyway so why mess with it? Yea you can use 4 of them to kill a drake... Most anything worth killing dispells them anyways.

They are hilarious to use in pvp if you get the chance and suck at pvp like me. Most people never expect to be trapped in a room with one and get eaten alive.
