I just wanted to give my 2 cents on why i think the Motm loot table needs to be readjusted closer to its old self.

Motm can be great for the small guy and i know it was intended to help newer players. But making it so harder mobs have better drop rates vs easier mobs rarer drops doesnt make sense to a degree.

Some mobs like ettins are easy but there are tons of spawn. Some mobs are easy but there are few spawn. So already thats a misbalance.

Champs and rda's are guaranteed relics and or PS. This is a benefit to huge guilds and tamers as they can complete the spawn easy and defend themselves.

But the little guy like me cant kill harder motm mobs for better drops or do champs and rda's. So this just creates more incentives to be in dominating guilds if you want high end drops.

I myself have a pvp/pvm type character. He isnt great at either one. But the stealth archer is a fun class and one that shouldnt be penalized for trying to be involved in multiple aspects of the game. Neither should small time players be penalized for trying to solo smaller mobs in motm.

At least the cloth rate should be increased because what is the point in cloth if it takes years to buy a suit? The richer and more established characters can just pay high end prices for this stuff.

So again why is the little guy being punished?

I was told the motm drop rate was changed so that harder mobs have higher drop rates vs easier mobs having lower drop rates.

Perhaps i am ill informed. But i have noticed from my own play and others that the drops are certainly lower.

motm drops definitely seem like they were nerfed

my main char is also pvm/pvp oriented, so doing motm I get my PVM in as well as pvp encounters fighting over spawn

ratmen are annoying because 1) main spawn is in despise, where everyone has been doing ettins and earth elementals the last couple months and are just sick of looking at that dungeon and 2) there's one little spawn area with 10 people camping it and groups of pks running through every 5 minutes

I have a strategy to get ratmen outside of despise, but it is slow, like maybe 1 ratman every 10 mins

I've never got anything in an RDA or champ spawn, I've got a relic out of arch demon, but now I don't even do arch demon anymore because it's annoying with all the harrowers, and I'm not in a guild/alliance so I don't know when the timer is and don't want to just sit around waiting for an hour for it to spawn, so motm is only option to get a real loot unless you're in an uber guild

before motm nerf I used to get roughly 1 relic a month doing motm (garbage relics but still fun to get one)

Well i have heard it wasnt changed and jt was and it hasnt been touched in 9 to 12 months. So if it changed a year ago it was certainly a huge nerf and i would love to hear the details.

2 years ago i used to get something daily. And that was after putting in a lot of hours. Of course sometimes you get lucky. But even then it was a cloth or a book or title scroll or statue and i have gotten a couple relics.

If anything the cloth rate neede upped so you can actually make some clothes with it. Otherwise whats the point?

I would say 6 months to a year sounds about right as far as when things were nerfed, because I took a break from the game for most of that time and when I started playing again a few months ago I started noticing very scarce drops

but ya the motm cloth should probably drop more often, or maybe drop 2 pieces of cloth instead of 1 would be good

I think the only real complaint here is accessibility. Weight to the drops relative to number and difficulty of spawn is fine in theory. If it's out of whack in practice I cannot actually say because I don't have a great sample lately and RNG is a fickle biatch.

Staff said MotM would get showcased regularly in invasions (also mini invasions?) and they have done an ok job with that in the past. We still have plenty of holiday ahead so stay tuned.

I say drop more cloth. And i understand shane wanting to keep rares rare. But you are talking about serious time and effort just to craft some outfits.

When there are so many aesthetics you can outright pay for. Why make it possibly years to craft some of these suits. At least make them somewhat attainable.

Personally i dont even care about lack of spawn even per se. I am way ok with people competing and fighting in small areas for spawn. But if it doesnt even pan out to realistically get anything. It sours the whole deal.
