Where is IPY today? or IPY2 for that matter? Or UOAC? Aren't they all the same failed shard?

IPY failed because of inside drama/corruption, not because purple pots weren't OP

I think everyone can agree that the staff for UOF does a great job running the server otherwise we wouldn't be here at all. I'm not saying UOF is going to fail, just that purple pots are unnecessarily OP

Well, after witnessing an event in game regarding a Lumberjack vs a mage, I think there are more pressing issues to worry about.... Dayuuum...

No one said it failed spefically because of purple pots. I am saying that they could never keep a player base enough to continue running after their initial run with the original IPY. This is not IPY and the largely different mechanics show that. I remember with IPY2 came out, people jumped over there, then came right back after they realized how shit works over there.

Using another shard, be it successful or failed, to base mechanics on is dumb. You don't like it, I get that, but clearly the staff would have removed the shit if it was a problem.

I do use an order shield and I get owned by tons of people and ***** about purple pots clearly, but you're not special unfortunately :(

the order shield gets lots of attention in pvp... people think I actually have parry for some reason (you get 30 AR from an order shield with 0 parry fyi)...... and then cry "omg parry poisoner omg run more omg omg"

Did I state that I was special? No? Thats what I thought. I did claim you ran for years away from me multiple times crying about explode pots because you can't figure out how to use two buttons.

I'm glad you admit to your crying ways though...that says...something...I guess?

Side note:
Can purple pots still 'curve' around things and 'follow' their target?
I thought THAT was the most ridiculous part about them.....

ok what if we ignored this whole alchy vs parry thing, and just said to fix purple pots do this

1) can only throw explo pots with 1 hand weapon, no warhammer wielding machine gunning, imagine.. people might actually use other weapons besides warhammers for macing!

2) make expo pots do splash damage for everyone

Yeah no, that would make sense...don't you know you can juggle,cook and do dishes while driving a car, Just like you can have NO empty hands and toss heatseekers.....Just think of it as a "magical UOF feature" you can always refer to it as only on UOF.

Also what Karl said just make it double explosion power and call it a day !

introduce "Throwing" skill.
make hit chance and damage dependent on your score in the skill.
(personally I agree with needing alchemy to determine damage......but......the alchy of the person who made the potion....not the person throwing it.)
also allow hatchets to be thrown, as a defensive measure. Requiring that same :Throwing: skill.
(OR give the otherwise useless daggers and skinning knifes the ability to be "thrown." Give a reason to actually use a vanq dagger.)
Hit your target? Damage done but The weapon is lost. Miss your target? The weap lands at the targets feet and follows normal loot decay timers.

Higher the points in Throwing...........higher hit chance,
Tactics, anat, and swords/lumberjacking, of course, required to deal any real damage. (When using dagger/hatchet respectively.)

PvPers are obviously here because of the game mechanics. Why would they change the PVP mechanics to appeal to those who have not even tried to adapt/learn to love the current system? Makes no sense..


Kaz while I respectfully concede that you are right for a good part, I must say that old players must be replaced or added to due to attrition. Pvpers get older and can't play due to wives/girlfriends limiting amount of time the guy is " allowed to play" LOL and children ,responsibilities.

I think it is always healthy to want to add to the pvp community.to entice new blood.
