Why is pet skill loss ignored?

What? This is not Trammel? Are you kidding me, seriously?

There is a very good rule of thumb that should be applied when replying to someone on these forums, that rule is "Make sure that you know what you are talking about."

I have never been a fan of tamers, I have always considered them an extremely over-powered farming machine with the players behind the character having a 'Holier than thou' approach to others, however, like all classes on here they have their place, they kick start the economy on fresh shards and are extremely funny when they are upset. They also produce a lot of rares.

This server has already implemented a lot of Trammel areas for PK's and even blues at Brit bank, a place where safer trading is possible, a place where PK's cant be statted and other assorted safe zones which are really a foreign policy to Ultima Online, especially on a server that is supposedly Fellucian rule set. There is no denying this point, since it is blatantly obvious it exists, so instead of throwing around the Trammel comment, use a different approach and emphasise other more specific reasons why Tamers should have permanent skill loss on their pets.

Again, I am not a fan of tamers, never have been, but the Trammel comment is so heavily used on this server that pretty much everyone fails to realise that it doesn't matter what class you are, there are elements of Trammel for EVERYONE here.
Darkarna killing it as per usual.

Don't ever change, baby.

And how are you contributing to the topic again? I mention the word trammel one time and you go off on a novel about the word trammel. Get a hold of yourself please.
You came in here naysaying with literally nothing, not even a foundation which you can build an actual argument on at a later time, and he took a shit on your chest (in the nicest way possible, no less)

Dummy.

Are you a downsy or something? He went off on a tangent about the word trammel being used too much on here. Nothing useful came out of it, except you quickly slobbing on his knob and showing your sick fecal fetish.

I guess you took this to a new level of stupid. Remarkable combination of words, a subtle hint of sexual orientation with a sprinkling of repressed urges towards becoming the next sloppy chops of UOForever.

That's cute. Nothing makes me happier then watching nerds unite.

We are all nerds here, I assume you are that special individual who posts on a gaming forum and considers himself above the rest because you receive five extra minutes of daylight compared to the rest? We understand, you are lacking a virtual hug..

Ehhh -- from my years of playing UO, people who dont PVP and have no interest in it are usually a lot "nerdier" than people who do. We are all nerds though....

I am proud of my nerd title.. I even pick cotton in the fields, tame rabbits to impress the local tamers and pretend to be a tailor at the... tailors shop.

I was going to bite but I have an ulcer.

Must be tough writing these essays about how tamers want trammel while standing on top of Brit bank with your red toon.

No, it's actually much worse. Faction stats lasts 5 minutes, who cares about that? Being statted as red may lasts a long time but you can just afk that time if you like and it's not like everyone who plays a red doesn't have up to 9 reds anyways to step in when one dies. I want to remind everyone of the huge outcry when Shane announced that reds may lose part of their skills when killed in the future. I don't even want to imagine what other threats than "I'll grief the entire shard or leave if this happens" would be thrown around if reds would lose skills that couldn't even be trained back up afterwards. Also if that would happen right on their death and not if someone was lucky enough to pick up their head and make it to the guard to stat them...
I'll ignore the first part cause I'm sure you are not referring to me.

For the second part - there is no comparison between a player's skills and pets skills when referring to skill loss/stat. Your pet is equivalent to a dexxers weapon not to the dexxor's skills. So no, its not worse.

The only real argument that is valid here is that the skills that metas and DBs cannot gain back should be made to allow gains.

Everytime I see you say this , I can't stop laughing, I have no idea why it is so funny but it really is.: sloppy chops of UOForever.

Oh god. Get over it. They are not going to create trammel rules for you select individuals that can't seem to learn how to play the game correctly. This isn't WoW. No one is going to hold your hand while you level your pet. Use skill scrolls and stay out of high traffic farming areas. You want the best loot? Well you risk of dying goes up. You want temporary stat loss and no pet skill loss? Join factions. Everything in this game is in place to counter every complaint you had. Some people are just too ignorant for a game like this.

Hmm... so , do you have inside information that staff wont change things to add more balance for tamers?
Just wondering, since it seems to me that Shane, the owner of the server asked what he can do to help us tamers.
Asked for ideas, it seems form tamers.
I am sure PVMers make up half the server players. It benefits the server to discuss options with them, as well as PVPers.
I don't PVP, so I don't offer any opinions on their game style.
oh.. and I did join factions , and it works out very nice for my guild and me !
I would prefer to have the benefits without joining factions, but like stated before. It definitely is every thing I wanted in being a tamer
on UOF. :)
This server entertains people of many skill lvls and mind sets. NOT just yours .
I like WOW, but I like UO better. :)
I don't need my hand held .. thanks tho.
oh and heck yes.. I DO like the best loots . Don't you?
Happy hunts mr grumpy pants!

Ideally, yeah, this is about that ^^ The reality is this:

Which is a stupid, selfish request of players that want an easier life. The above arguments don't even make sense when you look at them.

-> "Tamers are set up to deal with spawn, not PVPERS" -> Completely their choice. My tamer's have always been able to deal with both. Bad excuse here.

-> "I can kill things with full skill that I cannot kill with lowered skill lvls, so it does matter!!" -> unless your pet is completely untrained or you have a early level meta, its pretty useful in most circumstance. Sure you cannot solo a balron with a low end pet, but a good pet with a couple points off each skill from dying? Yeah no noticeable difference. You're lying to yourself if you think otherwise.

-> "Compare a tamer with low skill pets, to a PVPER who doesn't use pots, and or has no pvp skills" -> why would this be a comparison at all? No logical sense. Reaching for straws.

-> "All of the tamers i know help new players. We promote the economy, and the player base" -> Cause tamers are the only ones to do this AND that this is a great reason to give them a buff? Get out of here.

-> "Fix it where we take a temporary skill loss if pets die, just like the other classes of players." -> All classes of players have pet skill loss. Oh! do you mean to say that pet skill loss is equivalent to Faction stat or 9->48 hours of not being able to play a character? Don't be stupid.

Like I said sir. I have already resolved all of my issues.
Just hate that it took joining factions to do it. Would have preferred not to have to split my guild up.
It has been a new fun UO adventure for my guild and me tho. (I have never joined factions in the fifteen years that I have played UO.)
Your attitude and calling people stupid for having an opinion is rather nasty.
