A curious thought

So I just sat back down to the computer after dinner and I'm looking at Discord general chat. I see that the server has went down. So I try to log in. *sigh* Right, everyone is talking a Dos attack and I am like here we go again.

BUT No Wait..........

I log in. Np. Servers up!

I just want everyone to realize as a community how impressive that is! Seriously, I mean less than an hour of downtime.

Remember we are not talking about google mainframe super computer terminators. We are talking about the little small nitch community that is playing an fucking old ass wizards game for fun.

Yeah we've been getting hammered for almost 3 weeks straight now, even our website is getting hit now.
Pretty horrible tbh.

I am sure someone is to blame but will never be caught. This person probably used a botnet to attack the login servers. A botnet consists of infected computers all controlled from a single source. When utilized for DDOS, all these infected computers send mass packets/requests to the target IP/URL. Could be hundreds/thousands of computers infected all operating together.

Kinda funny that a lot of UOF players were blacklisted during that period, could their computers be infected and part of that botnet DDOS'ing UOF?

I logged in yesterday for a bit inbetween the attacks and there was like 4 people at Brit Bank. zero lag. It was..weird. I thought maybe there was a new happen' spot to bank at since Ive been gone! Shitty that some salty assholes have to ruin it for everyone

The lag spikes have been awful for me (and nearly unplayable) now for a couple of weeks. Grrr.
I hope the salty shit stain DDoS'ing our shard grows the fuck up soon.

This is what happens to sexually frustrated gamers @Soul Mate , the best way to deal with them is just to feel sorry that they can not or will not experience the pleasures of a loving touch. Attacking you for how you look when he has never seen you is a prime example of this and extremely pitiful at that. No wonder this species will become extinct..

We've been through a lot in the last few weeks.
hopefully all is good for everyone now!

Please DO NOT try to point fingers or make assumption of who any of you may think is behind any sort of whatever attacks.
It doesn't matter who is doing it, it just matters that we move on and get mast it as a community.

Things can go very dark when assumptions start being though up and fingers get pointed without any facts or rule.
It just gets us no where as a community, and does nothing healthy for anyone.

Working together is our strong suit for sure.
