is treasure hunting broken or is it just overfarmed?

I have a treasure hunter with 100 carto 100 lockpick etc, but I haven't been able to dig up a treasure chest in weeks

I use a rune library to find the chests, and used to farm them all the time, but now every time I go to a spot and try to dig with my shovel I just get "you can't mine here" - haven't had a single success in 2 weeks

did something change where Mining is required now? ( I have zero mining because rune library)

Or are the treasure chests just constantly farmed that they're waiting on a timer?

You just click on the map, select dig up and click on the spot to dig, i keep forgetting and trying to use shovel too but it works if you use the map. You still need a shovel in your pack too.

You can also double click the shovel and target the map, if you are standing in range of the chest spot (I think 1 tile ?)

With mining, I believe you can be further away and still dig it. I never had mining on a thunter

treasure chests are never over farmed. its impossible. if another t hunter came by my spot i just finished 30 seconds after i removed the chest, it would spawn for him.

If you use the map gump you can stay mounted while you dig it up. ;)
